Home tanning swap

Calling all tan lovers! I’ve found a new favourite, a very unexpected one.

So it’s Friday night, and du du duuuuuuu I forgot to tan for going out! So mad dash to the shops to try and find my usual St Tropez mousse (that I’ve typically ran out of). I usually like to use the 8 hour one but I was hoping to find the one hour express mousse.

Nightmare there wasn’t any! Oh no could I be going out with the girls looking like the milky bar kid?….Or is it going to be a substitute I’ve never used before, and could potentially end up looking like one of willy wonka’s umpa lumpa’s?

The only express tan on the shelf to possibly save the day was a Rimmel one hour mousse tan. So hey I thought I’d just give it a whirl! If the legs end up orange there’s always jeans or tights.

Love love love!

Girls/boys where has this been all my life!

St Tropez one hour mousse £33 (boots)

Rimmel one hour tan £7.99 (asda)

I mean the price difference is massive, so I won’t lie I didn’t expect much. I am also very sensitive to a lot of perfumed, or highly scented products hence why I usually stick to brands I know work for my skin.

Verdict

  • Similar soufflé consistency
  • Non sticky
  • Quick dry
  • Not too much of a fragrance
  • Easy to apply with a tanning mit
  • Literally one hour and done

Longevity is a biggie here as it claims upto 7 days…I’m on day 7 now and still look sun kissed yey. Fade is also a biggie as some tans can fade off patchy too, but again we’re winning, one of the most even fades.

Definitely a beauty swap for me, and the bank balance will thank me too!

If you haven’t tried it give it a try.

I will always love St Tropez and will no doubt purchase again at some point, but for now Rimmel Sun Shimmer one hour mousse, you had me at hello, saved the day, price winning and came out on top!

We all love a good beauty find, so if you forgot to tan and need something quick, durable, easy, and purse/wallet friendly you know what to do.

Can I also mention sheet transfer…this might not be an issue for some but sometimes you find tans that even when washed off very well, still transfer to bed sheets. I’m a stickler for a crisp white bedding set and hate to see tan patches on bedding. Rimmel also wins in this department. Been in a rush and all sometimes you can miss a bit on your neck or what not and it transfers to the sheets.

I woke up to crisp white bedding still! Yasss.

Over and out my fellow tan lovers, I hope your all going to now be sun kissed beautifully without those uv rays!

Sarah xXx
