What’s in my make up bag?

Firstly prep….Elemis Hydra-Balance day cream. I have very sensitive skin, but this moisturiser works wonders. It balances the skin whilst giving extreme hydration…..but best of all it doesn’t make the skin look oily, it has a neutral finish.

Eyebrows

My eyebrows are practically in the bin! Over plucking when I was a teen was very “in”, and oh has it ruined them now! Big big love for Wunderbrow! This product I literally cannot live without. I would choose this over any of my actual make up products any day!

Waterproof gel in shades to suit all, it literally stays put. Perfect for me as I go to the gym and like to swim too so it doesn’t sweat off. This is also perfect for a holiday too as it will stay on for around 3 days.

I normally leave mine 3 days then remove and reapply from scratch to keep it fresh. Instead of using the wand applicator that comes in the product itself I use an eyeliner brush and apply using fine hair strokes, to ensure the look is kept natural. What I really love about this product is that you can layer it up. I usually drag the lines of definition, leave to dry, then build up the shape and texture layer by layer.

Colour selection on myself I use Blonde. Although my eyebrows are what would look like a medium brown, the blonde is the perfect colour for me as once you start building up the layers the colour match is perfect.

If I ever need to top up the outline of my brows, or want to add a little more definition I will use KA-Brow (shade 3). This is a cream product but with a soft powder finish. Layering again if you want to add more depth in the colour. The applicator brush is perfect for creating definition or soft brush strokes.

Highlighter

Benefit Hi-Beam love love love! Even if you’ve had a rubbish nights sleep, or are just feeling groggy get moisturised and then get this on. I use this underneath my eyes and just underneath my brows. This is great for a make up free day too to give you that fresh looking face without the need for mounds of foundation or concealer.

Foundation and Concealer

Now I don’t use both of these at once, which may seem strange to some, but I’m not really one for a full face of make up. Unless it’s an event of course.

MAC Pro Longwear concealer (shade NW 20). I normally use this just to cover up some Rocescea I have (redness of the skin), but if I use this I don’t wear foundation over the top, as it feels too much.

Great coverage, and a little goes a long way!

MAC Studio Fix SPF 15 foundation (shade NC30). This is what I wear for evening out, but not for day to day wear. This shade is a little darker, but matches my skin when I have a little help from St Tropez tan (the mousse). Fantastic coverage again, and less is definitely more, no one likes a cement looking coverage!

Bronze & Glow

MAC Global Glow is just wow! If you want the bronzed highlighted look then a brush stroke on the cheekbones of this and that’s all you need. Literally makes the skin glow without that awful white over-highlighted look.

MAC Matt Bronze is my favourite bronzer. With its Matt finish its great for my combination skin type. Soft bronze tone, and you can layer if you want to add more depth.

This is great for when you have that holiday Glow, but want to flatten that oily sheen.

I find all of the MAC products very long lasting, durable and worth every penny.

Mascara

Rimmel Glam Eyes 2 in 1. Perfect combination for length and volume, as it comes with two applicator wands in the one container. I have quite long but straight lashes. I find that if I use a light coating of volume then run over with the length brush I get a soft and bold result whilst looking natural. For an evening look I would use the length wand and then the volume to crank it up a notch! Since buying this mascara I haven’t had to ever wear lashes since! When I use this it looks like I have had eyelash extensions done.

No posh or overly expensive brands, no holistic routine, just what works for me!

This is literally (well apart from my tweezers and brushes) all I have in my make up bag.

I’d like to think that I’m not very high maintenance with this, as for those who know me know I also love a make up free day to let my face have a breather!

I cleanse using Nivea Miceller face wipes for combination skin. These are very gentle and very moisturising too.

Make up bag budget, individually none of these products cost more than £30 each, and they all last very well in terms of not much product is needed, as a little goes a long way.

Now you have had chance to raid my make up bag, I am packing it away for the evening to sit with a make up free face.

Night all xXx
