A Beautiful Wedding

It’s the morning of Saturday 5th August 2017 and I have just arrived at the most gorgeous location.

Sledmere House. Tucked away in the woodland surroundings of Driffield.
Driving upto the venue you are greeted with a sign to say ‘Wedding’, graciously inviting you into the grand entrance of two ornate iron fence gates.

You are then greeted by the peaceful sound of the birds having there morning chat.

Once pulled into the small gravel car park with logs for kerbs you then see Sledmere House tucked away in the distance and is is not disappointing.

8.30am and we are ready to start prepping the bride and her tribe. If only Stephanie had remembered her bridesmaid dress (forgetful moment number one). Steve to the rescue!

Stephanie (the maid of honour) is one of my best friends, Mikki (the bride) is her sister. Now for those who don’t know these siblings, they are the funniest and cutest girls ever known to land. They can fill a room with sparkle and giggles in less than five minutes. Alison and Steve (the parents) I can imagine are immensely proud of them. Eight years friendship in the bag!

The morning was full of laughter, champagne, chambord and raspberries ( not forgetting the added glitter to the drinks).

Alison put on a spread of sandwhiches, pastries, fruit and gingerbread men to keep everyone going….we had 5 hours to prep. That sounds like an astronomical amount of time, but my fellow hairstylists will know it flys by.

During our prep the bridal party shared some special moments.

The exchange of gifts.

(Above from the bride to her tribe).

Then from the tribe to the bride….

The newly weds are honeymooning to Costa Rica, and the tribe got her the most perfect gift. A bundle of Polaroid…everything from the camera, to the perfect pale blue case, the prints and not forgetting the selfie lenz. So thoughtful. Mikki was overwhelmed.

Let’s start with the hair….you can see from the above pic I had already prepped Mikki in pin curls.

Here is Grace…simple and elegant with a plait to finish.

Here is Joanna…Fun updo with loose curls and plaits.

Here is Ellie, classic and elegant. She has the most fabulous hair colour too.

Here is Rachel. Rachel has the most hair out of….well us all put together and doubled. Just amazing.

Last out of the tribe is Stephanie the gorgeous maid of honour. Simple waves with some plaits to keep it fun.

Finally the Bride. Elegant, fun and this was the first upto Mikki had seen, the first practice we had, and the final decision.

Hair and Makeup complete. It was time for the girls to get ready…but let’s have a cheers first on the princess and the pea bed.

Stephanie helping her sister with the final touches, before the registrar comes to see Mikki.

Mikki’s dress was stunning. Classic, timeless, with some added sparkle.

Final moments before the ‘I Do’s’.

It was time for me to leave…my work here was done.

Congratulations to Mikki and Simon. True love xXx
