If you’re lucky enough in life to have a holiday with your best friends then you will know how much we all look forward to it.
We have the group texts the week before of us all posting our outfits to see what the other girls think, rushing around working, holiday prepping and trying to pack before the big day. You girls know what I’m talking about.
It’s the night before we go and I’m thinking to myself we’re getting picked up at 2.45am there’s no point in going to bed I’ll try and nap on the sofa. Managing to get a couple of hours I was delighted with myself.
Up I get at 1.30am shower, dressed, zip the case and I’m waiting for the minibus to pick me up. I was the second pick up.
It’s clocking on for 2.45am and the first one to be picked up was my little Stacey at 2.30. Were all texting away in the group message but we hear nothing from Stacey so thinking she’s just rushing to the minibus with her case and will message when she can…..nope! She slept in! After 4 missed calls she picks up all sleepy and realises the driver has now been outside since 2.15am and panics.
The driver decided to come for me first to give poor Stacey chance to sort herself out.
I’m picked up like the early riser I am and we pop off to get the other girls….now the motorway is shut!
I’m saying to myself “is this the start of what’s to come”?…
Driver detours and top chap he gets us there early! Holla Paul your a diamond.
Checked in and ready to go, we are armed with most retailers summer collections along with our suncream, let’s do this!

Landed safely and we’re trying to find our transfer driver “needle in a haystack”! Eventually found and were on the way to our hotel.

If your looking for a budget hotel that is clean, presentable, lovely staff and has a fab pool area then this is a fab place to go. The only one downside was most places were a taxi ride away, as we were to discover.

First day so we drop the cases and get the two piece on. We all know the first day as a girl is the worst day for the dreaded “have we worked out enough/do I look like I have a flat tummy” conversation with yourself.
Cream on poolside we go. After an hour or so we decided to go for a wander and get our bearings.
We discovered a beautiful cove with just a few loungers, and a spectacular view.

We walk down a little further and come across another gem. Beautiful beach, sea and with a few bars across the front.
We decided to stay for a spot of lunch and made plans to return the following day for a beach day.
Heading back to our hotel for a few more hours in the sunshine.
It’s pretty late on and we were itching to get out and explore and have an evening meal.
We headed to Benelmadena Marina which was beautiful.

We came across a restaurant called La Laguna that served traditional Spanish cuisine. Steaks, fresh fish, paella, and seafood.

The staff were friendly, sat us in a secluded area with the best view of the marina. I opted for a paella with chicken and white bait and it was out of this world. Of course served with a lovely glass of white.

A couple of the other girls opted for paella and another opted for steak on a stone. They bring out a hot stone and a raw steak for you to cook to your own liking at your own table. What a lovely experience.

We headed down to the front for cocktails and came across a guy who named himself “harry potter”. This was also the code for free shots at a bar. So of course we headed to the bar.
Feeling fresh after a good nights sleep and we were up and ready for a beach day.

Watermelon towel in hand and were off.
After a misty start to the morning the sun finally peeped through the clouds for us.
Yes girls you can get burnt through those clouds so put the suncream on.
After a few hours we decided to have a change of scenery and head back to the hotel for some time round the pool.

Second evening and poor Emma is feeling worse for ware and can’t bare the thought of eating or drinking let alone getting out of bed. So we left her to sleep it off, and started getting ready for night number two.

We decided on a more authentic evening so headed to Benelmadena Pueblo (the old town) not touristy at all, no promoters trying to coax you into their snack bars. It was piece and quiet with the most gorgeous buildings.

We spotted a restaurant that served Argentinan steaks. Now if you haven’t ever had this before you literally haven’t lived. One of my favourite restaurants in the U.K. Is a place called CAU, and the menu for steaks here were pretty similar. I cannot tell you how good the flavour of this meat is.
For all you steak lovers out there this place is a must.

Argentinan fillet steak cooked medium rare, served with mushrooms, tomatoes, asparagus and fries…..I have no words! Just amazing.
We were pretty late having dinner this evening so we headed through the old town for ice cream. Lemon sorbet here I come.
Last full day tomorrow so I suggested a visit to nearby Torremilinos. A place where my mum loves.
Early rising and we head in a taxi to make the most of the day to discover there is no sunshine just fog……until 4pm. Girls pet hate on holiday is not not get a tan.
Making the most of the downtime we explore the shops of torremilinos and grab a spot of brunch.
Watching them make fresh orange juice is quite something. The amount of oranges it takes to make one glass is quite something.
Spot of shopping done and we head over to the beach.

Toes in the sand and one of my best pals chilling whilst the others continue to browse the shops.
We all decide to ditch our towels on the beach and head for some lunch.
We found a beautiful beach bar, I felt like I was in ocean beach club in Marbella apart from the round white beds! Literally.
If your looking for a not so busy alternative to Ibiza or Marbella then Torreminios is the place to visit. There was also a festival about a 20 min walk away so there was always things to go do. French Montanna was playing the week after too!

Naked burger ordered and we chill for a while listening to the DJ, people watching. Spotted an ex Everton player.
After lunch we needed…..yes…needed ice cream, so headed off to get one.
Back on the beach for some serious tanning now the sun has finally made an appearance.

Purchased a few presents for my neices, nephew and mum and taxi back to the hotel to get ready for our last night.

Wearing topshops most popular dress this season, teamed up with some small lace ups from New Look, and a simple topshop chocker.
Last evening meal of the holiday and we go to another restaurant to have steak….did I mention we love steak!

Teamed with my staple drink of Disaronno and coke it went down well, but nothing in comparison to our last one at Longhorn!

Pornstar martini in hand and I’m good to let my hair down.
Onto our last day and we don’t have long before we get picked up so Me and Stacey deceived to head down at 8.30am ready to catch the sun early……only to discover the pool opens at 10am. I think the staff must have thought wow these brits not only love chips but there wanting to que an hour and half early for sun loungers too.
We decided to head for breakfast in the hotel instead to fill a little hole.

Last day spent eating my favourite fruit the watermelon. I cannot get enough of these.
So we arrive at the airport and one of the girls wasn’t feeling well after a bumpy ride.
Bumpy ride along with a slight hangover and heatstroke and we have a collapsed friend in the airport just as we are about to go through the airport security scanner. It was eventful!
Paramedics, a nurse, and a DR check up and she’s all okay to fly…..thankfully. Plenty of water for this one!
Quick mandatory shop at Mac and Benefit, and then we have to march to the gate just in time.

Fab time away with some of my best friends creating memories for life.
Hope you enjoyed hearing about our adventure in the sun.
If you are visiting any of the places mentioned you will not regret it. Sarah xXx
